Dot Com
(Play this Song)
The idea came while watching a co-worker leave a message on his mom's web page. It came to me that in today's world, everyone has a web page.
My mom just got a web page.
Now I visit her at mom dot com
Just like the big corporations.
My mom she's now logged on
You can visit her at mom dot com
You can visit her at mom dot com
The world's gone Internet crazy
Everybody's now logged on
Everybody's got web pages
Everybody's gone dot com
Everybody's gone dot com
Wanderer
(Music written by Biff Tate)
(Play this Song)
The story of a man who meets girls, impresses friends, and impresses his parents with stories of all of the great places he has visited and the things he has done. The catch, however, is that he has only experienced these situations on the Internet.
I com to Jamaica at Jamaica dot com
I surf in Australia at Australia dot com
I scale the highest peaks at Alaska dot com
I chat with the Chicas in CostaRica dot com
Without getting out of my chair
I wander round everywhere
With just a click of a mouse I leave home
Without even leaving the house.
Yea without even leaving the house
The chorus to this song ('I com to Jamaica') has many variations, covering numerous locations and circumstances.
98 Windows
(Play this Song)
This song is about Windows 98. It started about Windows 95, but has continued into Windows 98. I tried to relate my hours of frustration in using the product with the many hours of enjoyment I have received from using the product. It's an attempt to portray the many opportunities and drawbacks of using this product.
There's no curtains on my windows
Can't draw the blinds can't pull the shades
You can always see through my windows
See all my actions hear what I say.
There are cracks in my windows
Things aren't viewed perfectly
Some panes in my windows
But these panes don't trouble me.
98 windows in front of me
I open them up and I can clearly see
It's so easy to escape from reality
Through these windows of opportunity
Cyberspace 2002
A song about chat rooms. Anyone who has visited a chat room is aware that the truth is not always the case. A lot of people pretend to be someone that they are not. Is Sweet Mary really a girl? Does Blond Beast really have long, wavy blonde hair? You can pretend to be anything you want to be in cyber space
We are now leaving the real world and entering Cyber Space...
You have no face
And old age is just fiction
This is Cyber Space
No it's not science fiction.
Your height is unknown
No one need know your real name
And your weight is your own
It's an evenly matched game.
This song sounds best in a hard rock, heavy metal or rap format. This is only a sampling of the words.
Web Seductress
A song about a girl who uses her seductive prose to meet men in chat rooms. She chats, then meets in person, then disposes of them one by one
maybe mentally
or maybe physically
Hacked into tiny bits
His doom is completed
Bits turn into to bytes
Her prey is deleted
Chat Chat Chat
Hey Hey
Web seductress'
Gonna make you pay.
The song format is blues. The chorus is designed to be catchy.
Loggin into Love
(Co-Written by Biff Tate)
A song about how the people who purchase a new PC because they have heard how easy it is to meet people in chat rooms. What they haven't heard, however, is that it can be difficult just getting to a chat room if you don't know how to use a PC. A computer isn't the easiest thing into the world to master. Once mastered, however, you can use the machine to 'Log into love'
Turn on the PC
Gonna log into love.
PC tells me 'Push Any Key'
Push comes to shove.
Banging on the keyboard
Finally gets me in
Feelin pretty proud of myself
Now the love can begin.
I know there's somebody out there
Someone to love me
PC tells me how to get there
I just can't find the any key.
I'm loggin into love (Log into love)
The song format is rock or blues (eg. Clapton like). Could be used as a good promotion for a compute vendor
Electronic Baby
(Co-written by my son, Marcus Davis)
Is this a song about the perfect woman
or about a personal computer? The song seems to be a description of a woman who might be exactly what a man wants (or it could be about a man that a woman wants). The song is actually about someone's personal computer
No matter what I put in as input
She always has the right output
I don't have to over processor
And don't have to yell or cursor
I always have her turned on
To Turn her offs so darn rare
And she always makes my software
Stiffen into firm hardware
She doesn't mind that I'm lazy
Always says yes no never maybe
She's my electronic baby
Circuitous lady
She drives me crazy
The song is in a blues / rock format.
All Locked Up
A song that compares methods of picking up people with computer characteristics such as system crashes.
Well in the chat room jungle Congo Lady is behind
But I do find Magic Woman and she's messin with my mind.
So I tell her that she's magical that she's totally unreal.
That I'm her houdini, I'm her david copperfield.
So I chat my magic spells to see how she'll respond.
Yes I ask her if she'd like to play with my magic wand.
Then the magic woman pulls a disappearing act.
But I know it's not me, it's based on the fact ...
That I'm all locked up
Or she'd be reacting to me
All locked up
I know that she's attracted to me
Chatter's Block
This is another song about chat rooms. It is specifically related to the difficult decision in selecting the right nickname to use while perusing a chat room. I made up, borrowed, and stole more than 70 nicknames as I visited more than 40 chat rooms while researching this song. This is a true life experience. By the way, no matter what the nickname, I had no success.
I went out and bought a PC
Cuz I heard that chat rooms were Easy
That they give a lonely person a break
If I would have known that only
Millions of others were so lonely
I wouldn't have made that awful mistake.
No matter what you might have heard
It's difficult to get the nerve
To chat with some body you can't see
It all starts with a nickname
That you use to play the chat game
And find the mate of your fantasy
I've got chat room writer's block
I thought it would be easier than idle talk.
Got chat room writer's block
Thought typing would be easier but no it's not (No it's not)
We have found that this song sounds best in a country western presentation.
Trapped Inside the Internet
Another song about chat rooms. A person has met their perfect mate on the Internet, but unfortunately the person they have met will not meet in person, they will talk via the chat room
I met the girl that's perfect for me
But, as always, there's an unfortunately
The truth is that we've never physically met
Cuz She's trapped inside the internet
Our relationship isn't intimate
Cuz we only date on the internet.
She won't leave her home won't leave her site
But She knows how to type just what's right.
Forgotten the Password
Another song that compares methods of picking up people with computer characteristics such as system access.
My next best idea was the neighborhood gym
A good place to meet woman who are fit and trim
Well I found the fit, yeah a fit to no end
When I used my wit to trim the women
Now I'm a lonely trim man
Who doesn't fit with woman
A lonely healthy man
Without a fit woman
I've forgotten the password
To Meet new women
I've forgotten the password
That makes me interesting
